It’s been a a wonderful week(s) for our MOON & STAR . After his A-list Award for Style, (his first winning this year?), then came a successful MCing stints (in which he’s absolutely adorable with his signature shy, awkward smile/laugther and witty, unique mcing style and * pants *!), and now a numerous year end nomination (My fave the best couple nomination) . What a week for a fangirls heart and pandemonium @the preventoruim!
And so, while waiting for our YOO AH IN’s awards receiving time (I’m absolutely positive, he’ll be receiving a LOT, or else!), how about getting to know YOO time?
I’m not going to ask about your AGE, nope, I once read that asking a woman their age is a crime and rude. So not that…I won’t ask about your NAME, nope, that would be a cyber hazard…SAFETY first. I won’t ask for your Country either, coz, some wouldn’t want to be trace… (Anyone involve in a conspiracy theory here? Or being stalked by their cyber BF or Husbands? Just kidding here!)

1. I am a proud ICOMYM member 😀
2. A group of friends promised each other to name their first daugther “Summer”. It was supposed to be my “future”daughter s’ name.
3.I’d say He’s the ADOBO, YAI ADOBO! Why, because its a versatile dish, it can be cook using any kind of meat (seafood, pork, chicken, etc). It can be eaten as is or with rice. It was a combination of different ingriedients such as vinegar, soysouce, a little bit of sugar and little bit of pepper . Combined together VIOLA! A wonderful dish! Just like our YOO AH IN.
4. Hating work right now, so can’t think of any…but maybe the internet…hahaha, because it’s amazing! Just like him 🙂
5.Do you have an English name? (D..mn! Can’t think of any!?? Hahahah, seriously!)
6. Buying a YAI magazine containing lauguage I do not understand..but still happy for doing it.

I also wanted to share an absolutely wonderful expirience I had with YAI fandom. My first expirience, so I’m so glad that my first was unforgettable one…like finding a long lost friends and family (later I’ll post some pix if the girls gave their permission).

As promised, here are my answers ^^
1. I’m a proud to be an ICOMYM member – I wouldn’t say it’s an “inappropriate” one, however. It’s not really crush either, it’s more of admiration for someone so wonderful and precious ♥
2. Although I use summersky here, I am more known as kitsuneMD in other sites (twitter, livejournal, etc.) Kitsune (きつね/狐) is a Japanese word meaning fox. I actually took it from Megumi Takani (Rurouni Kenshin), who was called “kitsune-onna” or fox woman. Kitsune’s characteristics, especially in folklores, appeal very much to me – fierce, intelligent, cunning, and can be aloof. That’s why I was so happy when YAI was likened to a fox in one of his interviews. The MD part is because I’m a physician ^^
As for summersky, it’s a name of a Dungeons and Dragons character I used to play. Geek much? 😛 I also think that the name sounds very bright and positive ^^
3. I can’t think of a local dish to compare him to but for me, Ah In is like cheesecake – because cheesecake can be a little tricky to make. You have to make sure the ingredients are in room temperature before mixing them all together, and when you mix them you have to be careful not to overdo it or else it will create lots of air bubbles in the mixture causing the cake to collapse, then you have to put it in a water bath and time it very well so it doesn’t crack. When it’s done, you can eat it plain or put any topping you like and it will taste as great. Just like Ah In, he thinks hard when choosing which roles to play and though he seem to act quite naturally, you can see that he puts a lot of thought to make his portrayal as precise and accurate as possible. And like cheesecake, you can take him as Ah In, as Hong Sik, or as any of the characters he has portrayed and he’s just as wonderful!
4. ARRYTHMIA. Yoo Ah In can make my heart go tachycardic (fast beating) then bradycardic (slow beating) then tachycardic again and before I knew it, my heart is on flatline and needs to be defibrillated ***____***
5. CAN WE BE FRIENDS? (This is as forward as I can get ^^; Plus I definitely would love to have a friend like him~)
6. Volunteering to have two humongous boxes of YAI Esquire mags delivered to my place (THANKS AGAIN JAESHINAH!), then carry more than half of it (9 mags weighing 1.6 kg each) for distribution 😛 No regrets, ’cause I got to meet fellow lovely YAI fan girls (like the author of this awesome post) ♥

This is crazy since I spent most of my time now days googling about Yoo Ah In, making this Haven as the start up page of my browser and keep on checking this site every now and then hoping for the updates, keep watching all the Moon Jae Shin scenes over and over again, have put aside some money for the Director cut dvd (if it is USD100 it will be almost RM400 for me!) and now looking for classes or a tutor who could teach me korean so that I can someday twitt him! and all of these while I’m suppose to be preparing proposal defense for my PhD…! ghee.. That would be ‘grilled meatballs’, it is a spicy –spicy, I mean it- delicious food from Malang, Indonesia. Don’t care how spicy it is that it would hurt my gastritis I wont give a damn, since I like it so much.. and so does with YAI, no matter how hard or how many hours he got me to decode his words I wont care, otherwise, I enjoy it so much..

Finally, I got it all answered. Nowadays, I am just busy…..
1. I am a proud ICOMYM. Definitely a LOT older than our dear YAI.
2. K stands for korean and fan is fan. After watching a lot of Korean dramas, I become interested to anything related to Korea. Be it people, culture, education, entertainment, etc. But sadly, I have never been there.
3. Apple pie. Not a local dish but I just love apple pie. It’s something that I can’t resist. The moment I have one piece, I will go for the second, third, etc although I am on strict diet. Everyone should be forbidden to know YAI especially me because once you get to know him, there is no stopping it. He is such person – apple pie:)
4. None of my works relate me to YAI. But my situation at my workplace reminded me of YAI situation in Korean entertainment world where you don’t really want to be in the circle but you just have to and you try not to get so wet although you jump into the stream.
5. Can you tell me how you get over those period when you are consumed with the thought ‘I want to die;’ it was just—-It’s okay if I fall asleep like this and don’t wake up tomorrow.
6. Maybe this is nothing for everyone else but writing so many responses to this site are really the craziest thing I have done for our YOO AH IN/Fandom. I am normally a silent reader but due to YAI and SKKS (YAI is in SKKS), I break this hard shell and start to express my feeling and opinion for everyone to read. Sometimes I feel very embarrassed when I read back my published respone (especially with my terrible english) but I am following YAI. He is a person who express.
7. There are so many, but these are the one I always remember:
It’s okay if all my dreams don’t come true by the time I’m twenty-five; thirty-five is fine, and forty-five is, too. And I thought it was much better to protect myself and proceed slowly than to lose myself in the effort to shorten that time.
An original mindset is the absolute bottom foundation of what you have when you’re working for something or searching for something or trying to figure out what happiness means to you. That always has to come first, but the moment it comes second or third, you begin to not be yourself. So no matter how unbelievably hard it may get, let’s always keep it number one! Even if everything else realistically ends up a bit mixed up.
I don’t want live life just to live it; I want to be awake as a person
8. Frankly, he is the person I envy. I wish I am that wise when I am at his age. His words are so true that I sometimes hate him for pointing it out. I feel like saying “shut up your mouth, don’t be too honest”. I envy him for being able to be honest and expressive at the same time.

Rujak usually use unripe fruit and the dipping sauce usually very hot. If you are into sour food and hot spicy food. You’ll love Rujak. But not me.. i’m a children toungue. no sour no spicy no bitter. hahahaha

This is really unique question. When I read it I was thinking of a native Korean dish, so… I think Yoo Ah In would be Kimchee Chigae, b/c it’s a classic soup, it’s well balanced and it’s you always want more.

I really enjoyed his interview with Asia10. Specifically when he reflected on Jae-shin: “What I felt was so child-like about Jae-shin was how poor he was at expressing himself and how he didn’t know what to do about how he felt. He was so much of an idealist that he was trapped inside his own thoughts and felt, ‘Nobody hurts more than I do. Nobody is having a tougher time than I am. My pain is the worst.’ Because surprisingly, people with such pain or sadness feel that they’re more superior. There was a time that I felt like that as well. ”
8. What is YOO AH IN to you?
To me, Yoo Ah In is an intellectual and talented actor who chooses not to be confined by the pressures and the attempts of silence from the Korean entertainment industry, as well as netizens. I absolutely adore that he has a brilliant mind and social awareness. I also love his active voice, his need for self expression and his love for freedom. His voice and opinions are really needed in the Korean entertainment industry and I value his courage to use his voice.

2. Okay, I usually go by amyliaz which is just my name and the initial of my last name. The other moniker I go by is holdingontolove which is well self-explanatory I think? I’m quite idealistic about love and still believe in soulmates and all that jazz and yeah, I just still believe that true love exists in this world. Naive maybe. XD
3. Chicken rice! At first look, he doesn’t seem very special but the moment you’ve tasted him… you can’t stop. You’ve fallen head over heels in love with him! XDDD Seriously, chicken rice is that delicious. XD
4. Subject? Philosophy. HAHA. It’s just, he’s such a thoughtful person… I mean, look at his tweets! He just really thinks a lot and posts intelligent things. I’d love for him to teach me about life. XD
5. Wow that’s tough! I think I’ll ask him what are his views on love? Or religion? I don’t know exactly what I’d ask till I’m in that moment but yeah, probably something which will allow me to know more about him as a person rather than things like – WHY ARE YOU SO GORGEOUS?! LOL.
6. Nothing too crazy yet for Yoo Ah In. In the midst of setting up something but yeah. For fandom, I once stayed up till 2am every night and woke up at 7am for a week, making placards for Shinhwa when they came to town. It was the week before my major prelims too! It was all worth it though. xD

I am a proud LSAYAFG. Ah In was actually born in the same year and month as me ^_^
2. What is the meaning behind your Cyber/User name? anything special behind the name? Care to share?
I loved an anime called “Fushigi Yuuugi” so I ‘stole’ the name from the main character and it became my pen name. The “20” is how old I was when I started using it.
3. If YOO AH IN is a native/local dish, what would he be? And Why?
Not a native dish but I’d say a strawberry shortcake. It makes you’r mouth water just by looking at it and then when you taste it, you feel like it’s just like you’ve imagined to be inside and out: too good for words.
4. If you’re working what work related term that reminds you of YOO AH IN, if you’re a student, what subject remind you of him? Why?
Positive energy. Because he can brighten a people’s day just by giving them his smile. There’s something natural about his positively unconventional self that keeps people smiling too and thanking him the fact that he IS different from everyone else.
5. If you’re given a chance to meet our YOO AH IN (I’m hyperventilating just thinking about it!) and given a chance to ask just ONE QUESTION, what would it be?

– Making a marathon watching all his past projects while getting less and less sleep despite havng to work on the next day. Oh, and endure more than 5 episodes of “Strongest Chil Woo” while waiting for him to finally appear ^_^

1. I’m a proud LSAYAFG member (only 17)
2. Well, I was reading a book written by Lian Hearn, and I loved it. So I used her name as a base to create my name. Moreover, it’s close to learn (and I think this world is full of things to learn) plus “i” a letter that I really like because we’re smiling anytime we’re saying this letter. Finally, it’s really rare in my language that a word has 3 vowel, so it was a temptative to be creative ^^
3. Oh, this question is so hard, cause I don’t know many local dishes… I’d say “mygas” (but I don’t know how to write this.) It’s made with fried semolina and we can add whatever we want to eat with. I really love it like YAI (^^), and like him it may seem easy at first sight but it really isn’t, and with all the different kind of meat we can add, it’s always different, but still the same dish. Like his roles, he plays different character, but it’s always a way to see a new part of him.
4.Philosophy. I hate this subject at school, but his way of thinking influences me to think about myself, and his writings are full of deep meanings. That’s why there are so interesting whether his interviews or tweets.
5. What do you think about religion ? if my brains is working
Otherwise “Can I hug you ?”
6. Going to this site every day. Reading every interview of him. Watching videos about him. I mean, I never did that before, because all other stars seemed not really interesting to me, well not intersting enough…

2. I’ve always loved watching the children’s series Little Bear and the simplicity of the show reminds me so much of being a child laying in the sun on a beautiful summer day, simple and sweet I think.
3.Not really sure, I think something like buns with meat because biting into those Asian buns that are so fluffy/chewy …mmm, he is just mmm.
4. Photography, we all know he is just adorable but in a photo you can make people feel something, and he makes us feel something, so I think they are comparable. I think poetry but the contemporary type, just a sentence full with feeling, that’s what he is.
5. I would really love a hug from him, but the question I would ask is (if i do not get starstruck) his favorite book and if he enjoys to read.
6. I haven’t really had much opportunity to showcase how crazy my fandom can get, mostly just saved all his pictures I find online into a folder and watch every movie/drama he’s ever been in (I need to get to Korea first)!
7. Funniest part of SKKS when he first meets Park Min Young’s character and tells her not to make her bowing a habit she cannot break later, he just kicks everybody’s ass and walks away super cool, makes me laugh every time.
8. Just a guy who’s gorgeous, an awesome actor and very unattainable.
